Boxes

Oh, what a month we have had. It has been full! We have been moving, just across town, but moving. We have had the most amazing help from friends who helped make it all possible, we will never be able to thank them enough. We LOVE our new home and are enjoying each day settling in. Finding the fun at our garage sale. :-)

It feels like the 'box' stage is never ending, but we are getting there. In the mean time, we are finding lots of games to play in, around, inside of, and under boxes. Oh the boxes!

Seattle's Best

A couple weeks ago we drove to Seattle to celebrate Chase's birthday. We brought homebrew as a gift (which was a hit) and enjoyed the time with our best friends.

The Guys (missing a few)- (left to right) Aaron, Tyler, Chase, Josh, and Edgar. These guys were all on the same floor freshman year of college, they have been best friends ever since. We've celebrated holidays, birthdays, marriages, births, birthdays, and everything in between together. Our kids call them their Uncles and that's just what they are. Together through it all- everyone should be blessed with friends like these. Simply amazing. (Some of) The Ladies- Rachel, Jessie, Me, and Kim. Aiden's 1st birthday!

On May 23rd we celebrated Aiden's 1st birthday! I can't believe how this year has flown by. He is such a sweet baby, always smiling, always exploring. He loves to follow his siblings around and loves to snuggle. I am so in love with this little boy. xoxoAaron's parents came to celebrate with us.

We had all of Aiden's favorites: Penne with homemade red sauce w/sausage, focaccia, lemon broccoli, and chocolate cake with strawberries and whipped cream. I have to say, that boy has good taste. :-) Oh, birthday fun! What a fun boy! xoxo

A picture is worth...

Silo

A few weeks ago, we traveled down to Southern Oregon to visit THE FARM. We all chipped in to help build the new silo for the organic pig feed. It was A LOT of work, but such a rewarding experience. We worked from 10 am until about 8pm: hammering, lifting, thinking...working together. We finished the day with a home grown meal of pork chops, tomato cucumber salad, slow cooked baked beans, blackberry shortcake. It was awesome!

My best friend from childhood, Julia, came with her boyfriend Julian, Aaron's parents also helped- it was a group effort. I loved working with everyone together, such a beautiful picture of community. And the silo is finished! :-)

Mmm, summer is here!

Science is yummy!

For science yesterday we explored the wonders of vinegar and baking soda, it never gets old and is always fun! We started with a hypothesis and picture, then the careful pouring, and laughter soon followed. The kids loved the fizzy bubbles, not so much the smell though.

Could vinegar and baking soda taste yummy? Let's eat some!

That vinegar and baking soda turned into delicious chocolate cake, topped with raspberry sauce, chocolate sauce, and fresh mint. Mmm! Science IS yummy! Sweet Aiden agreed... I love homeschooling these beautiful babies of mine, especially on chocolate cake days. ;-)

Swagger Wagon

I thought this would make you laugh, my sister shared this with me and I thought it was hilarious! We don't have a minivan, but I know that day is on the horizon.
